In a heartwarming act of compassion, the Gurkha Peace Foundation has stepped forward to support a visually impaired couple, Surya Tamang and Sukumaya Tamang, who have been living in dire conditions in the remote village of Belkot, Nuwakot.

Surya and Sukumaya, both blind since childhood, have faced immense challenges in meeting their basic needs. With no stable source of income or access to proper facilities, the couple’s struggle for daily survival had become increasingly difficult.

Moved by their story, the Gurkha Peace Foundation—a charitable organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable and marginalized communities—provided essential relief and assistance to help improve the couple’s living conditions.

Foundation representatives expressed their commitment to continuing support for families in need, especially in remote and often overlooked regions like Belkot.

“This is not just about charity—it’s about restoring dignity and showing that no one should be left behind, no matter how far they live,” said a spokesperson from the Gurkha Peace Foundation.

The local community has welcomed the gesture with gratitude, expressing hope that this will inspire more acts of solidarity and attention towards the underprivileged living in isolated rural areas.
